Fostering the development of
gifted students – a research synthesis

Lead: TUM

The research synthesis addresses the current debate on fostering the development of gifted students. The project aims to tabulate the status of research so far and provide a new starting point for objective discussion. The central issue is how the development of gifted, highly motivated or very keen students can be promoted.

The project focuses on the subjects of languages, maths and science. Initially, in an attempt to explore the issue in depth, existing national and international research in this area and successful examples of practical application will be summarised and analysed. Cooperation with experts is also planned.

The project aims to provide practical recommendations to facilitate the fostering of student development and thus help to improve the educational system.

The main question addressed by the project is what form the fostering of gifted, highly motivated or very keen students might take. © iStock.com
