Joint research project between TUM and IPN
This project is about the capture and change of the knowledge of teachers during training and at the beginning of their teaching activities. The following two questions will be examined: On the one hand, the influence of the teachers’ educational (i.e. explicitly subject-independent) knowledge of teaching quality will be investigated, and on the other hand, how this knowledge interacts with other competences specific to teachers.
The project provides practical and policy-relevant findings from two longitudinal studies that looked at students of teacher education during their studies on the one hand, and at their career entry on the other. In particular, the project will provide an empirical basis for further teacher training. In addition, the analyses should contribute to a better understanding of which characteristics of the training are conducive to the positive development of future teachers.
